What we do

Two ways to light your home

One is permanent and year-round. The other comes down in January. Plenty of our customers end up with both.

Permanent architectural lighting

Low-profile LED track installed under your roofline and tucked into the fascia — invisible by day, brilliant at night. Millions of colors, warm white for everyday, school colors on game day, all from an app.

Christmas & holiday lighting

Commercial-grade lights cut to fit your roofline, installed in November, maintained all season, then taken down and stored in January. Roofline, bushes, trees, and wreaths are priced à la carte, so you light exactly what you want and nothing you don't.

Michael Moro

Co-Owner

Hi! I'm Michael Moro, co-owner of Buckeye Exterior Lighting. I'm a 21 year old business owner with over 3 years of experience delivering beautiful results for my customers. Christmas lights are one of the most special things to a child growing up around the holidays. Some of my core memories are seeing the zoo lights and helping my parents decorate the home for the holidays. I own a seasonal pressure washing and window cleaning business and had some time during the winter. I saw a demand for Holiday/Permanent lighting, and wanted to share the same joy I felt seeing Christmas lights with homeowners and their children. That's why I helped create Buckeye Exterior Lighting!

Nick Castle

Co-Owner

Hello! I'm Nick Castle, co-owner of Buckeye Exterior Lighting. I have 9+ years of experience owning and operating businesses. Holiday and Permanent Lighting make every bit of difference on a home. The houses on the street that stand out the most are the ones with excellent exterior lighting. Growing up helping my parents put up holiday decorations and experiencing the joys of the holiday season gave me an itch that this business helps me scratch. Seeing a customer's face light up when they see their lights for the first time is a priceless moment in time. I'm so excited to light up the city with lights every year!

Questions

What homeowners ask us

How much does permanent lighting cost?

Permanent lighting runs $28 to $38 per linear foot installed. Most homes need between 100 and 250 feet of roofline, so a typical project lands somewhere in the $3,000 to $8,000 range. Where you fall in that per-foot range depends on roof height, number of stories, and how complex the rooflines and gables are — a single-story ranch prices at the low end. We measure your actual roofline during the free consultation and give you a fixed written price before any work starts. The number we give you is the number you pay.

How does holiday lighting pricing work?

Holiday lighting runs $7 to $9 per foot, priced à la carte. Roofline, bushes, trees, and wreaths are each quoted separately, so you can light the whole property or just the front roofline and a couple of trees. Installation, mid-season maintenance, takedown, and storage are all included in the price — there is no separate takedown fee in January.

Will it damage my roof or fascia?

No. The track mounts under the drip edge or into the fascia with fasteners sized for the material, and all penetrations are sealed. We've installed on asphalt shingle, metal, slate, and tile. If your roof is near the end of its life, tell us — it's usually better to replace first, and we'll say so.

Can you see the lights during the day?

Barely. The channel is low-profile and color-matched to your trim or fascia, so from the curb it reads as a shadow line. That's the entire point — the fixtures disappear and only the light shows up at night.

What happens to holiday lights in January?

We take them down, and we store them. You don't climb anything, and nothing ends up in your garage. Takedown is included in the seasonal price, and we schedule it before we install so you're not chasing us in the new year.

How long does installation take?

Most permanent lighting installs finish in one day. Larger or more complex homes occasionally run into a second. Holiday installs are typically a half day.

Do you work with builders or commercial properties?

Yes. We handle office buildings, retail centers, restaurants, and new-construction homes. Commercial pricing works differently than residential — call and we'll walk through the specifics of your property.
